This is a truly gorgeous, rare and authentic, antique signed Etching by the renowned artist George Soper.
George Soper was born in Devon, UK in 1870 and was fascinated by the relationship between man and the working horse. Indeed many of his works feature working horses and these make up the bulk of his collection. I have two original watercolours by the same artist which I will be listing separately.
He was selected to exhibit at the Royal Academy at just 19 years of age and then regularly continued to do so for the rest of his life.
This particular etching is signed in pencil and shows working horses bringing in the shellfish at low tide from a boat.
It measures approx. 30cms (11.75") x 21cms (8.25")
