This is an exquisite pair of Napoleon III antique French pieces. (1852 to 1870)
An antique fan, these were made of papier mâché with a wood handle. Papier mâché became very popular during this period.
However because it is delicate few have survived today and to find one in such good condition is extremely rare.
It is hand painted on the front and back of the fan.
The leather bound leather bound notebook with dedication to the original owner, Yvonne, inside and her name is also a very rare and stunning treasure.
Beautiful hand painted cover with shell inlay. Quite stunning.
There are few blank pages inside and the inside cover is lined in silk with a pocket for notes and cards.

the notebook measures approx 23cms x 16cms (9” c 6.25”)
and the fan is 24 cms wide by a total of 36cms long including the handle. (9.75” x 14.25”) approx.
