This is a gorgeous and rare 19th century half glazed mustard yellow confit pot. It is also glazed inside. It is rare to find these pots with no chips or cracks is a really exceptional treasure.
I love the way the yellow glazing ran slightly, giving it real character, remember these were all done by hand in the 1800's.
This pot from the mid 1800's and they are highly collectable. They are from the south west of France and were used for storing duck during the winter months when they were placed in the ground outside up to the glaze line. They are fully glazed inside.
It measures 25cms/ 10 inches high
