This is a really lovely vintage French Casserole dish, soupier or tureen. It was made by the French Gien factory in the 1950's and is a fabulous example of cookware from this era. The classic lines and design make it very desirable today and it is rare to find one in such good condition. There is a chip to the underside of the lid as I have shown in the photos, only seen when you take the lid off and turn it over and also a chip to one side of the bowl above the handle, again as shown in the photos. The bowl itself measures 25.5cms (10") diameter excluding the handles and overall including the lid it is 14.5cms (5.75") high. Please regard the photos carefully as I always try to show any imperfections in the photos. Antique and vintage items very often have imperfections and it is my aim to always show these as I never want to mislead anyone. Honesty is always the best.
