This is a stunning vintage French bread proving basket. These were all hand made and it is getting harder and harder to find them in good condition as often they became worn and damaged and were then burnt.
The dough would be made and then left to prove in these baskets. This is a large basket for a big farmhouse round loaf.
It measures 43 cm diameter and 10 cm high. There is one bit of damage to one side as I have clearly shown in the photos.
