This is a wine corking machine from around 1900, made of cast iron and bronze. Still in working order, with a floor pedal, makers stamp and original wooden handle.
This was a vital piece of equipment used in a French vineyard in the 1900's to cork wine bottles.
A must for anyone who wants to add a genuine antique from France that also holds a lot of fascination as to how things were done. France is after all famous for its wine.
These are extremely rare to find nowadays still in working order. It can be polished and oiled but I have purposefully left it in its natural condition.
I have seen them sold for over 1,000 US$ at auctions. This one measures 37" high.
