This is a truly spectacular French Tian bowl, or a mixing bowl. It is really rare to find a bowl of this size and in such great condition with no cracks or chips to the terracotta. it is merely missing a little of the glazing in places as I have clearly shown.
It is terracotta and glazed with a pale yellow glaze on the inside and rim. Even the lip is in good condition.
It dates from the 1800's and was a traditional mixing bowl in a French farmhouse kitchen. This bowl was bought from a very old farmhouse in the South West of France.
It measures 20cms high, 44.5 cms diameter at the top without the handles and 50cms diameter with the two handles.
