This is a fabulous and rare 19th century half glazed green confit pot in truly excellent condition with no cracks. Fabulous for this time of year blending wonderfully with traditional festive colours. These are a real talking point as so few people are able to find them for sale, especially if they are absolutely genuine and you know where they come from.
Green confit pots are much rarer than the yellow ones and are becoming very collectible especially in great condition such as this one.
This pot from the mid 1800's. This comes from a farm in the south west of France and these confit pots were used for storing duck during the winter months when they were placed in the ground outside up to the glaze line. It is fully glazed inside.
It measures 26cms/ 10.25 inches high
Please always look carefully at the photos where I have clearly shown all marks.
