These are a stunning pair of antique pheasants. They are made of Brass and silver plated and stamped made in Italy. They were incredibly popular in Italy in the 1950's when these were made, and have since become real collectors items.
The larger of the pair measures 23cms long and the smaller one 12cms long.
These have come from a stunning Maison de Maitre (a masters house of some standing and usually one of the most important in the village) dating from the 18th century just outside the important historic city of Saintes, here in the Charente Maritime. The house had been in the same ownership since 1926. Knowing where something comes from and that it was much loved by the same family for decades and generations is incredibly special.
